Voice Director

With animation, and this is how it differs from a regular film or TV show, actors are cast solely for the way their voices sound. Voice actors are cast through the same audition process as regular actors, but when it comes time to actually record the dialogue, they fall under the ear of the voice director. And if you can do more than one voice, even better; it gives you the chance to play more than one character.

The voice director sits in on the recording sessions to make sure the actors get the dialogue right. He or she will sometimes have the actor do a line several different ways to give the director something to choose from in case he or she wants to try something out of the ordinary.
