Small errors may exist in meters, lens calibrations, emulsion speeds and development. These small errors will frequently cancel out without undue harm to the final picture. It is when these errors add up in the same direction that their cumulative effect is serious. It is wise, therefore, to test equipment, film and meters under simulated production conditions so that errors may be detected and corrected before production begins. It is always a good idea to "time up to the variables."
