Hitchcock used the same set of dolly tracks for Devlin's move as he did for Alicia's, and that it is not really a new setup.)

Hitchcock makes good use of the French doors: first to frame Alicia's drinking (the curtain seems to imply shame) and then to indicate the distance between her and Devlin (each ends up at either side of the door frame, the farthest apart they could be in this geography). This is another example of "What does the shot tell you?"
